David McGowan

Business Director, Nomad

David is co-founder and Business Director of Nomad, a regular award winning agency recently named Finalist AdNews Emerging Agency of the Year and No. 1 mobile agency in Australia.

He is a regular speaker, judge and author for mobile marketing solutions drawing on extensive industry experience with brands like Diageo, NRMA, Westpac, National Parks & Wildlife and Unilever.

As a mobile solutions specialist, David works to create strategic, design-led solutions that capitalise on users existing digital habits. This approach has acquired multiple marketing accolades including AWARD Pencils, AIMIA, IEAA Grand Prix, Cannes Silver Lions, Australian Media Federation and Mobile Marketing Association awards. 

Beyond mobile, David brings over 15 years of marketing experience through his own startup businesses and marketing roles with Vodafone Hutchison, Microsoft, Xbox and Atari developing integrated campaigns across retail, traditional and digital media.

Justin started his advertising career with Clemenger BBDO Wellington where he worked for five years before heading to the UK to join Ogilvy & Mather London.

During his five years with O&M he worked with Ford of Europe, Ford of Britain and Pilsner Urquell. His work with Ford of Europe saw him forge partnerships with the European Champions League, Disneyland Resort Paris, MTV and the Bond film franchise.
 
Clemenger BBDO Sydney approached Justin while he was working in London, luring him to Australia with the promise of white sandy beaches and longer summers. He started at the agency in October 2008 and after leading the pitch to win the Hungry Jack’s business in 2010, he now leads the business.

Justin has worked across a range of client segments including food and beverage, beer, automotive, travel, social marketing and pharmaceutical.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago, New Zealand.
 
Having recently developed and launched the most downloaded free mobile app in Australia for Hungry Jack’s, Justin offers an insight into converting clients into mobile believers.

Cameron is a leader and innovator in the Digital and Mobile space working on cutting edge projects both in Australia and overseas. I have worked for over 20 years in ICT and helped pioneer the Internet in Australia via Pegasus Networks in the early 90’s and Mobile messaging/data in the late 90’s.

Today he spends most of his time operating and helping various companies in designing, building and marketing various Mobile applications, platforms & content both here in Australia and globally. He is currently working with AppCast the Mobile specialist that is part of the STW Group of companies on innovation, project & product delivery both in Australia and Asia.

He is a born and bred Manly boy who loves surfing, sailing, rugby, people & technology. 

 

Richard Flanagan

Head of SMB Marketing at Google Australia & New Zealand

Richard Flanagan is Head of SMB Marketing at Google Australia & New Zealand where he is focused on helping small & medium businesses succeed in the digital economy. His team manages customer acquisition efforts around AdWords and AdWords Express, oversees Google's partnership with MYOB in Getting Aussie Business Online, and coordinates the Google Engage for Agencies program.

Richard has deep experience in online and offline marketing, customer lifecycle management, and strategy consulting. He has worked for Google in Tokyo and Dublin before joining the Sydney office. Richard holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BA in International Relations and French from the University of Pennsylvania.
